A San Francisco singer-songwriter once managed by rock impresario Bill Graham, Jamie Byrd's former band members went on to become Counting Crows. She has sung backup for Sylvia Tyson, appears with Neil Young on Joanne Shenandoah's last album, recorded soundtrack demos for Steven Spielberg, and opened for notables such as Crowded House and Chris Isaak. She has been awarded a CLIO and received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Jamie Byrd is also a producer and is owner of Byrdhouse Recording Studios in San Francisco. Jamie currently performs on the folk circuit across the country and in Europe, at such venues as The Kerrville Folk Festival, The Great American Music Hall, and other fine music festivals and listening rooms showcasing the best in original music.
