Sara K Look for Music
From Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sara K. plays a 4 nylon-string guitar in open A tuning, singing in a voice of effortless lift, deft swoops, and feathered landings. Tuneful jazz/blues/folk, always gentle, with her lyrics painting a thousand textures of an unbounded landscape. How someone who sings and plays so beautifully and composes such marvelous music remains a secret in her own land is a mystery. She mostly tours in Germany. Audiophile recordings. Most recommended: "Closer Than They Appear," "What Matters" and "Water Falls."

 1999   Sara K.   No Cover
(Chesky) Sara K. recorded live with a small ensemble at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in NYC. New versions of "Horse I Used To Ride," "What's a Little More Rain," and "Tecalote Eyes," with the unforgettable lyric, "I would never use your picture for a bookmark, when I get lost, and I want to look away." There's a passionate, improvisational feel to this recording, with a palpable sympathy brewing between Ms. K. and these superb musicians. Plus several previously... More>>>
