Cosy Sheridan |
 |
|
Cosy Sheridan, native to New Hampshire, now lives in Utah. We met her in Kerrville, Texas, in 1992, where she won the New Folk songwriting award. She would win at Telluride the same year. An excellent folk/pop/ragtime guitarist, Cosy describes her music as "A spiritual quest with occasional moments of tasteless, comical diversion."
"On stage her tender yet tough voice, lively acoustic guitar playing and brassy vulnerability are a disarming combination." - David Johnson, Boston Globe |

The Pomegranate Seed
|
The Pomegranate Seed is based
on Cosy's one woman show of the same
name, billed as "An Exploration of Appetite, Body-Image and Myth in
Modern Culture." The songs focus on beauty and body in myths both
ancient and modern. Cosy mixes broad humor with deep insights for a
record which is both thought provoking and a pleasure to hear.
"Whether drawing laughs or making you catch your breath, Sheridan
never lets up on her message of empowerment, of questioning authority

Anthymn
|
(Windriver)
"Anthymn" presents Cosy Sheridan at her outrageous best, or worst, depending on your state of mind, and then there's that serious stuff... The title track, written from a meditation, parcels its wisdom in a surreal, dreamlike, quiet way. An army of ants is assembling a paper heart on the lawn: "At times it looked like Frankenstein / But a heart without some stitching is hard to find."
